Work, Work, Work!

Well, I had no idea working for a living could be so tiring. I put in a full day, and am so looking forward to a good night sleep. Then, up early again for another day. As Merle Travis wrote,

You load sixteen tons, and what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt. Saint Peter, don't you call me, 'cause I can't go; I owe my soul to the company store...

So, here's what my work day was like:
  • I woke up at my usual time, and had a light breakfast: food, food, and water. And, food.
  • I got put into my luxury sedan, a little blue number that has a screen on the front and the side, and a handle on top. This was then escorted by my driver to a car of some sort, but I couldn't see much out of my carrier.
  • Traffic, traffic, traffic. I would have been frustrated if I were awake.
  • Then, we got to my office. My bed, my toys, my blankets, and some food came with me, and I directed how to set it up. I checked out my work desk (see photo), then took a nap.
  • Lots of people said "hello" to me. I was shy and a little afraid. I was glad there was someone I knew, so I didn't feel to scared. Maybe tomorrow I'll be more friendly. I think that it's good to be aloof at first, so that others respect you more. I heard that on the radio one day. Or, maybe I made it up.
  • After a while, I woke up and went outside for a stretch. It's very pleasant near my office; there are many cars going fast nearby, and the sound seems like an ocean to me. Well, I suppose it's what I imagine an ocean would sound like, since I never went to one.
  • Back to my office where I began my job, which I can best describe as, "roll the ball...puppy runs after like a maniac...puppy grabs ball and runs back like a maniac....its pulled out of her mouth (gently) and the process begins again. " When the ball ended up a step, I barked. I think that would be considered "exceeding expectations," so I'm probably going to get a bonus.
  • Then, a nap
  • Then, another trip outside and I think I felt some rain drops. I don't think I've ever felt rain before. Best I can tell, it's wet.
  • Lunch time! I ate some roast beef and cheese, but didn't really like my dog food. I hope they buy me another kind or flavor, since I'm getting tired of this stuff.
  • Then, a nap.
  • Then, back to my job, and I really worked hard this time. After running and fetching the ball about a million times, I tried to catch my tail. I was unsuccessful, but I will keep trying. If you looked at me from above, it probably was somewhat like looking down at a hurricane from above.
  • I had a couple of fights: one with some newspaper, and several with my blankets. I think I won most of those battles, but one of the blankets had me surrounded at one point. I prevailed.
  • When I got curious about the wires in the office (tasty!), it was time to leave...I don't think that was the plan, but I think maybe I'm not supposed to eat those wires. What does "electric shock" mean, anyway?
  • Back into my luxury sedan for the drive home. Yawn!
  • Home through more traffic and a thunderstorm. It was so loud, it almost disturbed my nap.
Now, I'm home. Miriam opened a new kind of food for me and I just loved it. What a treat after such a hard day in the office.

I'm unwinding by trying to catch my tail and fighting with another blanket. My work just never ends!
