Skunked!

We'll be the first to admit that there are some natural urges that we just can't seem to push aside. For Rozi, it's well-documented that the sight, smell, sound, or even implication of "food" makes here beeline for the source, whether or not it's something that's edible (for example, this past week she discovered that contact lens holders, while appearing to be two big fat mints, are really just plastic, but that it doesn't hurt the taste or texture of the snack). For Izzi, it's her instinct to guard the house from predators, both small (birds, squirrels, babies in strollers) and large (coyotes, dogs, FedEx trucks). There have been many times where Izzi's boldness and thinking of only the house and not her own safety have worked out well for everyone. Who can forget the time that she chased a squirrel out of the yard, and by "chased" we mean "ran to the place that the squirrel had been about a minute before, and ran around

The Blizzard of 2013 (Rozi's first!)

Hello from underneath over two feet of snow! Well, okay, we're not really underneath the snow, but we have been watching it carefully and we feel as though the snow has fallen on us, not just our yard! It's been a crazy couple of days as we prepared for this blizzard. We know that it's hard to believe, but little Rozi hasn't really seen a big snowstorm. Oh, sure, it snowed a few weeks ago, and we couldn't walk around the whole backyard for a little while, but it wasn't long before the yard was wide open for us to run around and chase phantom animals. You see, Izzi has been around for a few winters, including the one from a couple of years ago when we had gigantic, enormous piles of snow. Chinese Food & Ben

Another work day. Here I am getting ready to go to work: So, Friday at work, I went for Chinese food. Okay, not me; my typist. And we walked there. Okay, not me; my typist. I was carried. And, it was a looooong walk/carry through West Newton. We finally got there and picked up the food, and then we had to walk/carry back. I was tired! Happily, there was a small park that I could run in (as a break) before we got back. Then, back at work, I ran around outside to unwind...what a schlep for some Szechwan food! At home, Ben was visiting. I barked and barked and barked at him. I guess I didn't remember him too well. He fed me a treat, and I was calmer, but not completely. Maybe the next time I see him, I won't be so loud/scared. Anyway, we got a book that was wrapped in bubbles. Woo Hoo !
