Barking Bad

You may know us as mild-mannered puppies, content to chew bones, run after squirrels, and take 25 hour naps. But, there's a dark side to us, a dark side that we've been hiding for a very long time and one that we can no longer keep quiet.

We love "Breaking Bad" (the TV show; not what would happen if Rozi climbed onto the rock wall while chasing a squirrel and fell into more rocks, paws first).

We don't really get to watch too much TV, because we find that it is generally a waste of energy, except for shows like "Cutest Ever" and "Too Cute" and "Isn't that Cute" on the Animal Planet (and if the Animal Planet people are reading this blog, we want you to know that we're ready for our close-ups whenever you are).

But, most Sunday nights that the TV is on, we get to watch "Breaking Bad" and we really really like it. Our absolute favorite parts are the ones where there are doggies, but that's not too much of the time. We don't understand a lot about what is going on, and we don't really like it when there are loud bangs, but there are things about the show that we really enjoy.

Like, we are really happy about the relationship between the main big guy (Walter) and the guy that does whatever the big guy tells him (Jessie) because he believes him. And, what we like about this is how much it reminds us of the two of us. Izzi is the one who is always coming up with the plans to do things, and Rozi is the one who does what she tells her to. But, just like Walter and Jessie, we sometimes get into big fights (although, it's usually about a bone or a treat, and not about money or all that blue stuff that they have in their TV show).

And, just like the two of them, we often find ourselves in the middle of adventures, but - of course - they're not in the beautiful desert of the Southwest; they're in the back yard of our house or at the soccer fields nearby.

And, yet, we find that we have a real connection to those two characters, since they are always trying to get what they want and don't really care about what it takes to do that. Like any time we want to have food that someone is eating, and that is not on our plates. So, we have a bunch of plans, just like Walter and Jessie, that we use to try to get what we want. Sometimes, we jump on the legs of someone who is eating, and make sad faces and whining sounds to convince them that giving us their food is a good idea (we know that the people on the TV show do things with those sticks that make noise when they touch them the right way, and we don't know what those things are or why they make a noise, but we think that our climbing/whining is similar in its intent, if not its execution).

Sometimes, we lie on the floor, looking as sad as sad can be and hoping that someone takes pity on us and gives us a little of the food they are eating. You know, like when Walter had to ride in the back of that truck last Sunday, looking sad and waiting for someone to let him out and give him food and a place to sleep and all that.

And, of course, just like Jessie (mostly) and Walter, when we find ourselves in stressful situations, we just want to get away. Like, every time someone says the word "walk" and Rozi gets excited because it's her chance to bolt and....well, she's not sure exactly why or where she would go, but she just wants to go go go.
And, like last Sunday's show, when Jessie just wanted to go go go (and we know that he got ice cream first, and that made us sad; not because he was sad, but because he got ice cream and we were hungry).

So, I think you can see why we both like the show so much and why we will be sad when it is not on TV anymore. But, we know that there are other TV shows that look like they'll be fun, and that have good doggies in them.

Which is why we are so looking forward to the return of "Game of Thrones" and all those happy direwolves!

Izzi & Rozi
