Happy 2016!

We've been lax in keeping all of you up to date on what we've been up to, but our market research shows that we sleep with nearly 100% of the readers of this blog, we figure that if there is something going on in our lives, you likely know all about it. But, that doesn't mean that we should not keep the rest of the world updated on things that we've done (sleep, eat, sleep, sleep) or places that we've been (the backyard, under the bed, the front of the house when Rozi decides to 'explore') and for that we apologize.

So, today, the first Thursday of 2016, we had a little bit of an adventure, but because we have chosen to work with people who are perhaps not as competent as we would like (when it comes to paying our help, our goal is to make the people who build electronics in China seem wealthy) there are no photographs of our day. However, since one of is is a "glass half full" kind of girl (and the other one is a "the glass had a liquid in it and I drank it all" kind of girl), perhaps if we paint a mental picture, you'll feel as if you have put on Virtual Reality glasses, but at a much lower price than we've heard some of the newest ones will cost.

Izzi - Before
Our morning started out like most other mornings: we were awoken by our mama who wanted us to go outside to stretch our legs and do those things that most dogs do outside naturally, but that we do only begrudgingly. Cold from our little trek around the back yard, we came back inside and Rozi got into her warm bed, while Izzi trotted downstairs to see if our mama needed any help with her exercises.

At this time of the day, we were both tired and were looking forward to our breakfast, and we expected that this would come once the exercise portion of the morning was over. As she usually does, our mama came back up and went into the room that is filled wit
h hot air, and into the little room that she shuts the door when she enters. Some times, when she's done, we go into that little room to try to help clean it, but this morning was not one of those mornings (we were tired, since we only got 36 hours of sleep between us yesterday). And, then we expected to have our breakfast, but...

It wasn't to be.
Rozi - Before
Instead, our mama got the little rooms from the closet and unzipped the tops. We were excited and scared because when she takes those little rooms out, she puts us in them and then we get picked up and we are never sure where we're going. That was the case today, since after we were done with our sniffing, we were put inside each one (separately) and our mama took us outside, but because we were in our little rooms, we could not run around. She put us in her car and off we went. As usual, Izzi was a good girl the whole time, but Rozi was making such a commotion that our mama had to put her little room on the floor! She said that she didn't want Rozi to hurt herself, and Rozi kept on rolling her room over and over, so that was probably a pretty good idea.
Soon, we were being carried again, and we were so happy when we saw that we were at our spa! It had been a long while since we had a trim or a good shampoo, and so we were glad that our mama finally realized that some times a girl just needs a day of beauty. "Treat yo' self" is what we like to say.

We were dropped off and since we have a lot of friends at the spa, it was a good morning for us. We were pampered and hugged and pretty soon, there were lots of other doggies (although, the smallest of them was twice Rozi's - and five times Izzi's - size). We were having the best time when the fun ended because our driver showed up and it was time to go home. We said goodbye to all of our friends and were packed back into our little rooms and lifted out and were in another car. We told our driver to just head home; we'd have lunch there.

Before we left, though, we were both taken out of our little rooms and could walk around. Izzi jumped onto our driver's lap and Rozi just lay down on the seat, next to her little room. But, as we were driving along, Rozi got bored, and carefully (!) put her paws on the top of the room, which was now open, and then even more carefully (!!) hopped up and in. She was then able to lie down in her room and think about how good her morning had been. From time to time, she peeked out to see where we were going, but she mostly laid low and enjoyed the ride. Izzi, unable to curl up because that awful driver insisted on turning big wheel that he holds on to, couldn't relax as much as she liked, but kept calm during the drive.
After!

Soon enough, we were back in our house and we rolled all over the carpet to be sure to 'scuff ourselves up', because it's just not cool to have that "just back from the spa" look. We were able to choke down several slices of turkey and cheese for lunch, and then decided that we were way behind in our napping, and have spent the rest of the day doing just that (until we decided to get our writer to type this as we spoke).

All in all, a good way to start off the new year!
