Grades are Posted!

Along with the little green buds popping up on the trees, the sunlight lasting longer so that we can bathe in it for an extra hour, and the snow shovels being stowed in the shed (finally! ... it was getting embarrassing to bring friends over), the coming of Spring means that we end another school year. Oh, sure, we know what you're saying, "You girls don't go to skool" and we want to point out that (1) isn't just existing and making it through the day a form of education and (2) you spelt "school" wrong, silly!
Waiting for our grades!

So, we have asked that we receive our grades for the past semester (which runs roughly from the point where we are too tired and it's too dark to get out of bed before noon to the time when we are too tired and it's too light to get out of bed before noon). Now, we don't really know how we are doing, since those who grade us have refused to give us mid-term grades, but we do have regular meetings with our advisors and we think that we're doing pretty well because in pretty much all of the dozen or so meetings that we have every day, we are told that we are "good girls". So, there's that.

And, we just got what we asked for! Our grades!

Comportment/Behaviour
Grades: Izzi A; Roxi B-, which was curved to an A-
Comments:
Izzi is generally friendly to all who come to visit, and does a fine job protecting the house from the threat of people walking on the front sidewalk, or running past the house, or pretty much just existing in a space that is the "outside". Overall, she scores very high on the "calming down quickly when a stranger comes home" and is off the charts on "nearly having a heart attack when mama comes home". While there is room for improvement, she does very well.
Rozi, on the other hand, does terrible. She barks whenever someone comes to visit (even family members, other than mama) and usually tries to take a bite out of whatever part of them or their clothing is close to the floor, which means both nipping the calves of visitors and sinking her little teeth into pants legs. While she typically feels bad about this and just wants to curl up on the lap of the stranger or family member and be sorry about it, she soon forgets her resolve and the barking comes on strong again when the object of her attention stands up. Her grade (before curving) would have been worse, but she was given the benefit of the doubt because she is so young. However, there is much room for improvement.
How did I do this semester?

Eating
Grades: Rozi A+; Izzi B, but extra credit brought it to an A
Comments:
Rozi and food are as inseparable peanut butter and jelly and she very likely perked up when she heard the word "peanut butter" being written. She is a fan of all types of food, and eats vegetables and meats and cheese and more meats and cheerios and pretty much anything offered to her. While she has developed a small (no pun intended) problem with peanuts, she can even eat a few of those without feeling ill. It would seem that her favorite food is "whatever is on Izzi's plate". All in all, an outstanding student of the culinary arts.
Izzi is much pickier when it comes to food, and often leaves her meals unattended for long stretches (i.e. 5 minutes), allowing them to be inhalded by Rozi (see above). However, Izzi has shown a taste for more exotic foods, such as broccoli (okay, so has Rozi), green beens (ditto), and the shells of stuffed clams (yup, Rozi too). But, Izzi goes far afield (pun intended this time) when it comes to dining al fresco, which means (she thinks) eating rabbit poop. This, even though she knows that it makes her a little sick. So, while overall she did not receive a great grade for this, she's given the "extra credit" of exploring her dining choices and fighting through the difficulty as if she were a contestant on an island in the pacific on "Survivor: Puppy".
I'm hungry

Getting along with others (dogs who live in the house, only)
Grades: Izzi A-; Rozi A
Comments: Rozi gets a high mark for being friendly and following the lead of her sister. When Izzi, perched on the couch, finds someone breaking through the invisible boundary of the edges of the yard, she barks and barks. Rozi reacts by barking, even though she has absolutely no idea why. Still, Rozi appears to follow along, since she's just that kind of puppy.
Izzi gets an A- because she's a bully.

Loving our mama
Grades: Rozi A+; Izzi A++++++++++++++
Comments: Do we really have to explain?

Overall semester grades
Izzi: 4.0
Rozi: 4.0000000001 (she's a little - um - bigger)
