Tooth-Hurty

This has been a very long day for us, and - unlike most days - it wasn't very much fun. We got up at our usual time but we found out that there was no breakfast this morning! That's never a good thing and it wasn't because our mama forgot or that the breakfast was late: it just wasn't there! This was suspicious, as was the fact that our little suitcases (that we get put in some times when we're going for a visit somewhere) were in the living room.

Uh oh!

We've both gotten a little but - um - shaggy over the last few weeks and so what we thought was going to happen was that we were going to go visit our friends at Robin's Nest, which is a great place for us. And, also, Izzi's crush is sometimes there.

But, when we got into mama's car, it was a long time until we got out and we knew from the smells that it wasn't the groomer. In fact, it was our new vet's house and we were a little happy to go inside since there are lots of other doggies there, but we were also a little concerned since we were just there a month ago. Still, it's not like our mama gave us a choice and so in we went. We hoped that maybe we would get some breakfast before it was time to go home, but then our mama left (and she kissed both of us goodbye and told us to be good girls and we're always good girls except when we're home).

And, then, no breakfast!

We were put into a cage and we were both happy that we could be with each other since there are other doggies and kitties and they seemed like maybe they were nice but we did not know where our mama went and we did not think that we were just going to get a nice bath and a shampoo and a trim. So, we waited and waited and waited and we both tried to be good girls. Then, after a really long time, the nice people at the vet's house came to take Rozi away and that made Izzi a little sad, but since she's older, she's better able to cope with the curveballs that life throws at her than little Rozi is. And, so Rozi went away and we're not sure what happened but our mama told us that the nice vet (Dr. Kruse) took some of Rozi's teeth out! She told our mama who told us that Rozi would feel better since they were boo-boo teeth (that was the name the doctor said, our mama told us) and Rozi came back and now it was time for Izzi to go.

But, Rozi was sad and just wanted to be with Izzi while Izzi was having her teeth worked on. And, so the nice vet tech held Rozi the whole time while our doctor helped Izzi feel better by taking out her boo-boo teeth too (she had more boo-boo teeth than Rozi) and also there was another thing in Izzi's mouth that the doctor had to fix. And, so it took a while and Rozi was a good girl while she waited and watched since she wanted to be sure that her sister was going to be okay.

And, she was. But, since she's kind of little, it took her a while to feel better because the special medicine they gave us to make us feel a little sleepy and a little happy was stuck in her body and they wanted to be sure it all was gone before she got home. She was a little cold so she also got a blanket, but Rozi didn't. And, that was okay with Rozi since she was feeling better and was just a little worried about her big sister.

Now, we're home and we can finally have some food! Izzi's mouth is really sore and Rozi's is a little sore but our mama has medicine for us to make it not as sore. And, it's a little harder for Izzi to eat, but she can still have a nice dinner, too.

And, that was our long day at our doctor. We like our doctor and we like the people at the vet's house but we don't like the special medicine that makes us sleepy so much. And, we really don't like that we both have fewer teeth now. But, we think that our mouths will feel much much much much (much!) better now. Our mama told us so.

Arf, Yip, Yip, Yip,
Izzi & Rozi
