Doggy Day Care

We wake up. We eat. We play. Mama leaves. We sleep. Mama comes home. We play. We eat. We go to bed.
We wake up. We eat. We play...
As Yul Brenner said in that show about a king, "et cetera. et cetera. et cetera" (we sometimes get to watch fun shows with our mama).
As you can see, we're in a bit of a rut. Sure, we have seen our mama scrambling about the house, and changing it from the way we liked it (couch near the window, big table in the kitchen to hide under, lots of clothes to sleep on on our bench) to something that we're still getting used to. But, it's pretty much the same routine. Sure, every once in a while we get to go to our beauty parlor and get all prettified, and sometimes we have to go to see the doctor, but our days are mostly just the two of us and mostly sleeping.
So, when our mama got our harnesses out this morning, we thought that maybe it was time for a trip to get haircuts or maybe a vet visit. When we got in the car, Izzi curled up on mama's lap and got all snuggled in her blanket, and Rozi barked at every person who was walking near the car.  Of course, we were both anxious about where we were going, since both of our "usual" destinations are fun but each has its own negatives (bathing and getting shots, respectively).
This time, though, we went a different way that we remembered. The smells were different and the things that we saw outside the window were new to us. We each shook a little as mama drove us, and then she stopped in front of a house that had nice dog signs and a flag that said the people in the house loved dogs! This was great, but we were still confused: was this a new place to get our hair cut? We love our friends at Robin's Nest but sometimes our mama tries different things, just for a change (never ask Izzi about "Debbie" and "the Dungeon"!). Was it a new doctor? We like the one we go to, who was nice when we were getting our teeth fixed.
Confused, we got out of the car and headed in the direction that mama wanted us to. Rozi leaped up the steps and Izzi followed behind. Then the door opened and...
...we made a new friend! Mimi was there to say hello to us and when we got into Mimi's house, we met Felix, who is a bigger dog than us but very friendly. We became best friends with both of them right away.
And, then our mama gave us a surprise: we were having a "Doggy Daycare Day"! To be honest, we don't even know what Doggy Daycare is; we'd never heard of it. But, we figured it out pretty quickly: instead of sitting in our house and doing the same old same old, we were visiting a new friend and got to have new smells and sit on couches that we'd never been on before. Sure, Rozi barked a lot when we were first dropped off, but after our mama left (which made us sad, but she said she'd be back and we should have a fun day and we believe our mama and also want to do what she wants us to do) we relaxed and started to explore.
We really liked the house that we were in and Mimi took so so many pictures of us that we can't even fit them all on this page. Here are just a few and you can see how our day went:

We're so happy that we got to have a different kind of a day than usual. Don't get us wrong: we also like our routine: even though some might see it as a rut, we see it as comforting. Still, it's nice to do something different every now and then, and today was that day.
Mimi and her family treated us great, and we were happy to be able to spend the day with a new family! We were, though, more than happy when our mama came back (like she said she would) and we got to go home to our routine and our regular smells.
Thank goodness that we are going to stay in our house for a long, long time!
