It's a (B)liz(z)ard!

As we write this, we're waiting for a big lizard to show up near our house tomorrow. It's all that our mama seems to be talking about today, and we can't wait to see it. We are both pretty sure that when it comes to our home, we will be able to scare it away, just like we did with the man who came to our house this morning. Our mama said that he was here to "check the heating system" but we both know that when she says "heating system" she means Rozi's belly and Rozi's belly is fine so we chased that man away from our house (after about an hour).

So, when this lizard comes, we will be ready for it. We have already been outside to make sure that we know how we will attack, and that's important because there is some snow and ice on the ground and we want to be sure that we have traction when we run across the yard after him, because we can be really fast when we do that. We practiced earlier this morning, and when we did, everything went perfectly (except that Izzi was wearing her sweatsuit because she was lounging when the time came to do our practice).

We know that our mama has brought in a lot of food to our house, and we think that's because the she's worried that when the lizard comes it could be around for a few days and she might not be able to get to the supermarket and she wants to be sure that we have enough food to make it until the lizard leaves. That's one of the reasons that we're going to work so hard to be sure that it doesn't stay around any longer than it needs to.

It's also getting pretty cold outside and we're happy that the house is nice and warm and we think that our mama will be home tomorrow instead of going to her work because the lizard is going to be big and she thinks that it might be best to stay away from driving while it's around. We think (actually, we hope!) that we'll be able to spend tomorrow snuggling with her while she eats popcorn (and Rozi hopes that she drops some of it on the ground) and watches movies. It will be so nice to just relax for a change, and not have to think about what's going on in the rest of the world (as an aside, Rozi is confused about why there's all this talk about air being put into or taken out of footballs, since she thinks that the only direction anything [air, chicken, greenies, cheerios, ....] should go is in, so why would someone try to take things out?).

But, we'll have to keep our eyes out for the lizard, since our mama says that it could be mean and make a lot of wind, and we will have to be sure to protect her from it. We're so good at that. Well, Izzi is. In fact, just the other night, when Izzi felt that our mama was going to be attacked at the middle of the night, she sprang into action, snarling and growling and attacking the intruder, and she's pretty sure that she scratched his face and caused an enormous amount of damage to be sure that her mama isn't disturbed any time soon.

For now, though, we'll just get into our protective positions, watching out the windows and the back door to see when the lizard is coming. And, since we think that there might be a reason for us to go outside, Rozi's making sure that she's all bundled up so that she can fight it.

Arf, Yip, Yip, Arf,
Izzi and Rozi.
